Questions Answered
Is Trackers
International a Charity?
Trackers International is a 'none profit
making organisation' but is unable to apply to the Charity Commission
for Charitable Status.
The Charity Commission defines four recognised categories that qualify
an organisation for Charitable status:-
1. The relief of poverty
2. The advancement of religion
3. The advancement of education
4. Other purposes beneficial to the community
No. 4 is broken
down:-
* The Charity Commission
warns that it considers the following activities unacceptable:-
1. Seeking to influence public opinion or put pressure on the Government,
whether directly or indirectly, through supporters or members of the
public.
2. Issuing material which supports or opposes a particular political
party or the Government.
3. Undertaking research for another body where it is clear that the
body intends to use that research for political or propagandist purposes.
These are just
examples of many. And there are penalties if a registered Charity does
not adhere strictly to the rules.
There are considerable benefits in having Charitable status but I decided
Trackers International must retain its independence
and be free to continue in-depth research, making the findings public,
and supporting the call for a Public Inquiry into adoption practices
and procedures 1940 inwards.

What does
it mean; 'Trackers
International is a voluntary 'none profit
making' organisation'?
Trackers International as a voluntary 'none
profit making' organisation.
It operates independently and without funding.
Its Researchers, Advocates, Mediators, Specialists and Medical Consultant
give their expertise and time freely.
I considered all the options, conferred with Council for Voluntary Services,
and decided to begin the lengthy and complex process of registering
Trackers International with the Council
for Voluntary Services. It involved studying the law on voluntary organisations,
legal structures, meetings with Council for Voluntary Services staff,
lengthy discussions, then compiling the required legal Constitution
of Trackers International.
I'm indebted to the Council for Voluntary Services for their on-going
support and help, especially Morag who repeatedly gave on the spot advice,
guidance and encouragement.

The website
side www.uktrackers.co.uk
To protect the name of our website and ensure no one else could use
it, or buy the name and legally stop me from using it, I was advised
to purchase it.
The TI Accountant registered 'uktrackers' with Companies House in London
as a dormant company.
Which in effect means 'uktrackers' marches on paper.
Although 'uktrackers' is a dormant company and does not trade it is
still required to have two named officers of the company, myself and
my husband.
Our responsibilities for a dormant company are the same as those for
a trading company, ensuring all the necessary returns, accounts and
other documents reach Companies House by the due date.
We also have to pay Companies House £30 each time we do so.
Even though 'uktrackers' is a dormant company we, the company officers,
could still be prosecuted if documents and payments are not delivered
to Companies House on time. There would also be an automatic civil penalty
for filling late accounts.
Is it worth all this work and expense just to protect the name of a
website?
I believe it is.
It ensures no one on the internet can ever use our website address.
